Every shipment of Neway biomass fuel is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis. This page explains what is tested, how the testing works, and how to verify it independently.
What each Certificate of Analysis covers
| Parameter | Method / basis | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Calorific value (GCV) | Bomb calorimetry, per lot | The single most important number — determines how much fuel you need for a given heat load |
| Moisture (ARB) | Oven dry method, per lot | Above 10% you burn energy evaporating water; it also causes corrosion and poor combustion |
| Ash content | Burning residue at 815°C, per lot | High ash means more bottom ash to remove and more wear on your grate |
| Fines percentage | Sieve analysis after cooling | Excess fines burn as dust, blow out of the boiler and get filtered out as loss |
| Pellet dimensions | Vernier / screen gauge, per lot | Out-of-spec pellets jam auger feeders and cause bridging in the hopper |
| Sulphur | Per lot | Low for straw-based fuel, but stated for SOx compliance in your stack emissions |
| Nitrogen | Per lot | Affects NOx formation in the flue gas |
| Bulk density | Weighed volume, per lot | Determines the loadable weight per container and your storage footprint |
Our process control
- Raw material intake — paddy straw moisture checked at intake. Material with soil or stone content above the screening spec is rejected.
- Drying — moisture brought down before pelletizing. This is the single biggest determinant of final pellet durability.
- Milling — hammer mill to a consistent particle size so the die compresses evenly.
- Pelletizing — press under controlled heat and pressure. Over-temperature causes ash fouling and binder burnout.
- Cooling and screening — pellets cooled before bagging so they do not soften in the bag; screened to remove fines.
- Bagging and sealing — 15 kg PE bags or 1,000 kg FIBC jumbo bags, on IPPC-marked pallets.
Independent verification
We do not ask you to take our word for it. For first-time buyers we recommend third-party inspection — SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas — on the first two or three shipments. The inspection can be carried out at our plant before loading or at the port, at buyer’s or seller’s cost as agreed. Once a trading relationship is established and you are satisfied with consistency, per-lot COA alone is normally sufficient.
Sample testing before you commit
We can courier a 2–3 kg sample to your laboratory before you place a firm order, so your own technical team can burn-test and analyse the fuel against your boiler specification. Courier cost is shared. Ask us for a sample with your enquiry.
