Export Logistics & Shipping — Biomass Pellets

How Neway packs, loads and ships biomass fuel. This page covers packing formats, container loadings, dispatch ports, lead times, trade terms and the ordering process.

Packing formats

15 kg retail-grade bags

Multi-layer PE bags stacked six to eight high on wooden or PLP pallets, stretch-wrapped. Approximately 15–18 pallets per 20-ft container. Best for buyers who break down deliveries by bag at the plant gate, or where destination quarantine rules require heat-processed sealed packaging.

1,000 kg jumbo bags (FIBC)

Bulk FIBC jumbo bags, 25–28 per 20-ft container, layered with an air gap for ventilation. Best for buyers with bulk silo or hopper unloading and forklift handling.

Both formats run on the same line — you can mix them in the same container by arrangement.

Container loadings

Container 15 kg bags on pallets 1,000 kg jumbo bags
20-ft standard approx. 22–24 t (about 1,500 bags) approx. 25–28 t (25–28 units)
40-ft standard approx. 26–28 t (volumetric limit) approx. 30–33 t (weight limit)

Actual net weight is verified at the weighbridge before the container is sealed, and stated on the packing list and Bill of Lading. Variation of ±2% is normal industry practice for packed biomass cargo.

Dispatch ports

  • Kandla — closest major port to Bhiwani; shortest inland haulage
  • Mundra — similar haulage distance, good liner connectivity
  • Nhava Sheva (JNPT) — available on buyer preference

Transit to Busan is approximately 16–17 days by sea.

Lead times

Scenario Lead time
First shipment (new buyer) 2–4 weeks from PO — production 1–2 days, lab COA 2–4 days, stuffing and clearance 5–7 days
Subsequent shipments 7–10 days against running stock
Annual contract Monthly rolling schedule, 15 days’ notice per container batch

Trade terms

  • FOB Kandla / Mundra — we deliver the container to the port and hand over the Bill of Lading. You arrange ocean freight and insurance from there.
  • CIF — product, inland haulage, Indian export clearance, ocean freight and marine insurance all included. CIF keeps your landed cost stable and removes the vessel-booking work from you — we arrange the shipper side end to end.
  • Letter of Credit — L/C at sight accepted, and recommended on your initial one or two containers while the trading relationship is being established.

Payment terms

  • Standard: 30% TT advance against proforma invoice, 70% TT against copy of Bill of Lading.
  • L/C at sight accepted for first orders.
  • Trade finance — we can work with your bank’s L/C or our own bank.

Ordering process

  1. Enquiry / RFQ — you send quantity, destination port and packing preference.
  2. Proforma invoice — firm price with 7-day validity, specification on a COA basis.
  3. Advance and optional samples — 30% TT. We can courier a 2–3 kg sample in advance, courier cost shared.
  4. Production and COA — the line fills to order, the lab issues the COA, and a pre-shipment photo report is sent to you.
  5. Stuffing and clearance — container sealed and weighed, Bill of Lading issued, documents couriered or emailed.
  6. Balance payment — 70% TT against B/L copy, or L/C presentation.

Container preparation and labeling

  • Clean, dry, leak-checked 20-ft and 40-ft containers before loading
  • Wooden pallets IPPC-marked (heat-treated) per ISPM-15
  • Bilingual label — English with Korean or Vietnamese as required: product name, net weight, lot number, calorific value, moisture, manufacturing date, exporter details and caution text
